Our Community

About Kijicho Manito Madaouskarini Algonquin Nation

A proud and adaptive people with a rich cultural heritage.

Our traditional and present day community is within the area of North Hastings County in the Province of Ontario. We have lived here since time immemorial.

Historic records and original maps document our presence on the land back to first contact with European settlers arriving in the area.

We adapted then & we are still adapting today as we work to build capacity and maintain our identity, renew our culture and express our heritage in both traditional and contemporary ways.
